Portugal Igreja de Santo Ildefonso, Porto
Igreja de Santo Ildefonso crowns the edge of Praça da Batalha and looks over the upper town. I approach through iron gates and climb broad granite steps to a Baroque façade with twin bell towers and a central niche. Blue-and-white azulejos cloak the front and frame tall windows and a carved portal. Inside, a single nave leads past side chapels; carved and gilded woodwork catches the light and contrasts with stone and timber details.
Photography Tips
This was taken with a 28mm lens so something at least this wide is preferable. I used 100 ISO Ektar which is suitable for bright sunlight. A digital with a zoom would have been more versatile.
Travel Information
Took the funicular which was a short walk from where we were staying. Porto is easy to walk around.
