Now days this construction is a garden surrounded by the old walls from the castle. With a beautiful landscape and sight to the tagus river. It opened in 1881 and has undergone several renovations since then.

Photography Tips

the spot its good to capture the rise of the full moon aligned with the tagus river and the sunrise at certain times of the year, but keep in mind that usually the morings are very foggy, so it makes the sunrise harder to capture.

Travel Information

you can get there by car or train, from lisbon its about 1h of travel with both. there is a genegrous parking space on the surroundings very easy to find a spot.
