Portugal Whale Watching Point

The Miradouro da Vigia das Baleias (Whale Watching Point) is located in the parish of Algarvia, in the municipality of Nordeste, on the island of São Miguel. This was a whale-watching post during a time when whaling was one of the Azores' main economic activities.
The site is equipped with haystacks for picnics, barbecue grills, restrooms, a playground and a recently opened fitness circuit.

With a lookout post and a tribute to Our Lady, this viewpoint offers a superb view of the sea and the north coast.
