Lagoa do Pau Pique is a small, hidden crater lake surrounded by a dense ring of pine trees set against rolling green pastures. Seen from the ground, it's easy to miss, but flying a drone reveals its unique eye-like shape. The surrounding hills and frequent moody weather make it look straight out of a fantasy movie.

Photography Tips

Gear: Fly a drone to get high enough to capture the entire circular crater ring alongside the sweeping landscape behind it.

Timing: Overcast or misty days are absolute magic here. Wait for passing clouds or low fog to drift through the frame to add depth and a moody atmosphere.

Travel Information

Located right along the EN9-1A road toward Sete Cidades. You can park in a pull-off area nearby and launch your drone right from the roadside.
