Summer is one of the best seasons for this viewpoint because during golden hour the sun sets behind the cathedral for several months. Add a post rain day with broken clouds and you have the perfect recipe for a really amazing sunset.

Travel Information

The easiest way is by metro and a short 10-15m walk. Closest stations are Okhotny Ryad, Teatralnaya, Ploshchad Revolyutsii, and Kitay Gorod, then walk toward Red Square and down to Zarayadye Park Area. Parking and vehicle access nearby can be limited, so walking from the metro or a nearby drop off point is usually the simplest way, Taxis can drop you off at Manezhnaya or Zaryadye Park
