Slovakia (Slovak Republic) Meanders of the Lužňanka River

The Lúžňanka Meanders natural monument, located near the village of Liptovská Lúžna, is an attractive natural sight. It consists of a cluster of several meanders, alongside which a lookout tower was built to provide better views of the watercourse. Furthermore, the site is set in the beautiful surroundings of the Low Tatras, surrounded by forests and meadows where herds of sheep and cattle can often be seen grazing.

The ideal time for shooting is early morning, before sunrise, if you want to capture the rising sun. A wide-angle lens or a standard 24-70mm equivalent will be more than enough.

The site is easily accessible from the village of Liptovská Lúžna. You can drive almost all the way to the location. At the edge of the village, turn left onto a dirt road, where you can park your car at the beginning and then walk about 300 meters to the meanders.

There is a bear problem in the Liptov region, so please be careful.
