Slovakia (Slovak Republic) The Extinct Medieval Settlement of Šoldov
Šoldov is a fascinating archaeological site and a deserted medieval settlement (dating roughly from the 13th to the 15th century). It is located beneath the High Tatras Mountains, within the municipality of Štrba (near the D1 highway and a cycling path heading towards Važec).
Since there are very few written records about it, the settlement is shrouded in mystery and legends.
