Slovakia (Slovak Republic) Inversions over the Pieniny Mountains.
The photo shows the Three Crowns (Trzy Korony) mountain range on the Polish side, taken from one of the highest points in the Pieniny National Park on the Slovak side. It might be confusing, but the border between Poland and Slovakia runs through these places.
Photography Tips
The Pieniny Mountains are without a doubt at their most beautiful in late summer and early autumn, when temperature inversions form almost on a daily basis. If you decide to go there, don't forget your standard 24-70mm lens, but also a really long lens—this shot was taken at a focal length of 450mm. Don't forget to wake up early in the morning, because at this time you can encounter a huge number of photographers on the Pieniny hills.
Travel Information
You can park in Lesnícke sedlo, where the parking lot requires a fee. Then, cross the road and follow the yellow tourist trail to reach Šľachovky in about 45 minutes of fast walking. For slower walkers, it takes approximately an hour.
