Slovakia (Slovak Republic) Orava Castle before sunrise.
One of the largest tourist attractions in northern Slovakia is Orava Castle, built like an "eagle's nest" on a rock above the Orava River in Oravský Podzámok. The construction of the castle began on the site of an old wooden fort after the Tatar invasion in 1241. Over the following centuries, an extensive castle complex with 154 rooms today was created from what was originally a small 13th-century fortress.
Photography Tips
It is a highly visited tourist spot, especially during the summer holiday season, so I recommend visiting either early in the morning or off-season. Don't forget to pack a standard 24-70mm lens in your backpack. It will be more than enough.
