South Africa Garden Route Game Lodge
It's a game lodge and one of the best just outside Cape Town if you are wanting a big 5 experience. The accommodation and food was top notch and there is a great social aspect to the game drives. This was a bit of a lucky shot as the mother cheetah had just made a kill for her cubs and this is not something you see every day.
Photography Tips
I would take a zoom lens if I was starting out as it's so useful to get in close if you need too. I have lens two in my bag for trip like this, one is a 16-55 and the other is a 70-300, which gives me great flexibility to shot wide landscapes or tight closeups.
Travel Information
This game lodge is about 3 hours outside of Cape Town, best to take the N2 as it's a nice drive and there are lots of great stops on the way for lunch and for rest breaks. They offer day trips and stay overs and its well worth the trip as you will have an opportunity to see the big 5.
