St. Andrews Bay is one of the most iconic wildlife sites in South Georgia, home to one of the largest king penguin colonies on Earth, stretching endlessly across the glacial outwash plain. Alongside them, numerous seals rest and move along the shoreline, while snow-covered peaks and braided rivers complete this vast and powerful landscape.

Photography Tips

Keep a respectful distance and use a zoom lens to capture natural behavior without disturbing seals and penguins, allowing for more authentic and intimate shots. Focus on eye level perspectives and watch the background carefully, so clean compositions highlight the animals against the dramatic landscape rather than clutter.

Travel Information

You only can reach South Georgia by expedition boat from Cape Town, Falkland Islands or Ushuaia Argentinia. On every landing site you have around 90 minutes time to create your content.

Please take attention to all the strict rules that your crew bring you closer to protect the wildlife and nature sites.
