South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands The Petrel Shipwreck Grytviken (Chains)
The Second old Shipwreck of Grytviken is behind the bigger barrels more on the south side of the old whaling station. The rusting remains of the Petrel (shipwreck) lie half-submerged in the waters of Grytviken, a haunting relic of the island’s whaling era.
Photography Tips
Take the chains as a good leading line towards the shipwreck.
