Torre Agbar_Barcelona
The Agbar tower can be found on the corner of Carrer de Badajoz / Avinguda Diagonal. In the evening, in the darkness, the tower shines in the most beautiful colors.
The outer skin of the building is fascinating.
The 16,000 m² facade consists almost exclusively of glass and aluminum. The building has 4,500 windows, of which 4349 can be opened. 56,000 glass fins with a size of 120 × 30 cm. which were aligned at different angles are also appropriate. In total, there are 16 different positions that reflect the daylight and sunlight differently at each setting.
Since the company AGBAR is also the owner of the building, this office complex was also named after it. The head office of the holding is also located in one of the 32 floors of the tower. The tower is not open to the public but you can at least look around the entrance hall once.
The French architect Jean Nouvel designed this building and built it in homage to Antonio Gaudì. With the independent color change of the outer skin he is 100% successful. For his masterpiece, Jean Nouvel received the International High-Rise Award on November 17, 2006.
