Spain La Almedina neighborhood, Descanso Street, Almeria
The Almedina neighborhood is located in the old Muslim city. Its colorful houses are one of the most authentic examples of traditional Almería architecture. The Alcazaba of Almería, the largest Moorish castle in Europe, is located at the end of this street, Calle Descanso, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful in the neighborhood. The photo is a three-frame panoramic shot taken with a 24mm lens. The close-up of the Vespa allowed me to accentuate the perspective and depth of the scene, while also further contextualizing the neighborhood's working-class character.
Photography Tips
Go early in the morning, when the sun hasn't yet created overly strong shadows and light. The enveloping light just before sunrise, or with the first rays, allows you to accentuate the colors of the houses. During bright sunlight, the scene becomes much harsher and more confusing. Bring a wide-angle lens and don't rule out using perspective image stitching. Doors, balconies, and facades are also interesting photographic subjects. If you enjoy street photography, this neighborhood also offers excellent opportunities.
Travel Information
You can find the Alcazaba parking lot or the city center parking lot just a few minutes' walk away. Parking in the neighborhood itself is almost impossible.
