Santa Maria de Montserrat is an abbey of the Order of Saint Benedict located on the mountain of Montserrat in Monistrol de Montserrat, Catalonia, Spain. It is notable for enshrining the image of the Virgin of Montserrat. The monastery was founded in 1025 and rebuilt between the 19th and 20th centuries. With a community of around 70 monks, the abbey is still in use to this day.

Since this location is pretty big, you have a lot of possible frames and motives, I took lenses from 14 to 400mm to get as much as possible.

Travel Information

There are several ways to get from Barcelona to Montserrat. One option is to take a train from Plaça d'Espanya station to Aeri de Montserrat station, and then take the cable car up to the monastery. Another option is to take a guided tour from Barcelona that includes transportation
