Spain Plaza Vieja, Almería city

The Plaza Vieja, Plaza de la Constitución, or Plaza de Cañas, is the focal point of the historic center of Almería. The town hall building and the monument to the Colorados are true icons of the city. The towering palm trees compete on the skyline with the pingurucho of the central sculpture.
It is a porticoed square with the structure of a Castilian plaza, but surrounded by buildings that evoke the eclectic architecture of 19th-century bourgeois buildings in Almería.
From here, you can visit almost everything of interest in Almería's old town, including the Alcazaba, which is just a five-minute walk away.

To take a wide shot of the square, you should be prepared for a panoramic stitch, using a wide-angle lens of at least 24 mm.
The best time is undoubtedly the blue hour, when the last light of day blends with the artificial lights of the square and the spotlights illuminating the buildings.
A tripod is essential to work at ISO 100 and get the best image quality.

The square is accessible on foot, but parking is easy. There are numerous paid parking lots in the immediate vicinity. The square is just a few minutes from the Puerta de Purchena, whose underground parking lot houses one of the largest parking lots in the city.
The square is the starting point for any of the walking tours of Almería.
If it's open, be sure to visit the city's Interpretation Center. Its upper terrace offers an exceptional viewpoint of the square and the Alcazaba monument.
