The Jerez de Zafra arch is the only remaining gate of the wall that was begun in 1426 by the first Lord of Feria, Gomes I Suárez de Figueroa. It corresponds to the western gate of the former town of Zafra and takes its name from the beautiful town of Jerez de los Caballeros in Badajoz province.
