The shifting dune, measuring 1,000 m x 250 m and reaching a height of almost 20 m, is of great importance in Spain.
From the hiking car park, a wooden boardwalk leads a few hundred metres across a wetland to about 200 metres in front of the dune. It ends there in front of a pond. Entering the dune is prohibited and punishable by law.
