Chateau d‘Oex is the biggest place in the Gruyère Natural Park Pays d‘Enhaut, a region between the more renowned Gstaad, Valais and Gruyère which is well worth a visit if you‘re in the area, especially in spring. The 15th century church, called „The Temple“ can be seen from far as it was placed on a hill.

Park the car between the football field and the tennis courts and walk up the street to gain some height (so your position is higher than the flood lights of the football field), turn sharp right at the first possibility and continue to the end of this small side street. There you‘ll get an uninterrupted view of the hill.
