Inseli Lungern is not exactly an island but a man-made park that extends into the lake with a park located in the island. This spot offers dramatic perspectives on the lake and the surrounding alp mountain ranges.

Photography Tips

The spot is almost always free of people but be attentive of canine movement since people with dogs usually take a stroll here (sometimes without a lead). A tripod would be a better option since to capture some dramatic timelapses.

Travel Information

The best way is to reach the town by car since the town is directly on the highway A4 Brünigstraße. Another picturesque way is to take the Panorama Express from Interlaken Ost towards Luzern and get down at Lungern and then hike down to the lake a bit. Beware that the way back up to the railway station can be quite demanding.
