Switzerland Lutry, Canton of Vaud, Switzerland
Lutry’s jetty was set where lake, village and Lavaux vineyards had met the distant Savoyard Alps, giving strong geometry against a grand backdrop. Clean lines from railings, piles and ladders had supplied leading elements; boats and paddle steamers had added scale and story. Dawn light had brushed the terraces; sunset and blue hour had laid colour and reflections across the water. Calm mornings had allowed mirrors; the bise had carved texture; passing fronts had delivered dramatic cloud and rays. Ultra-wide to short-telephoto lenses had been effective; low viewpoints had strengthened reflections; ND filters and long exposures had simplified the lake, while fast shutters had frozen spray. Across seasons—blossom, regattas, golden vineyards, snow lines and fog—the scene had stayed varied. With tripod space, safe footing and easy access, repeat visits had been richly rewarded.
