Switzerland Hotels an der Reuss Luzern

The hotels in Lucerne’s Old Town, right along the Reuss River, are a real architectural highlight. The different architectural styles, the water, and the nearby bridges create a truly beautiful scene. This spot is only a few hundred metres from the Chapel Bridge and Lucerne train station.

It is especially beautiful in the evening, although you should definitely expect plenty of people around.

For this photo, I used a 120-second long exposure to make the bridge appear empty and to prevent people in the restaurants from being visible. The long exposure also smooths out the water, keeping it from distracting from the architecture and the overall atmosphere.

I took the photo during blue hour to capture the beautiful colors. However, this location could also look stunning in the morning.

You can easily reach the location by train. From the train station, simply walk along the Reuss towards the Jesuit Church. The spot is clearly visible directly along the river.

If you prefer to drive, I recommend using the Altstadt parking garage. It is easy to reach and only a few minutes’ walk from the spot. Please note that the parking garage is subject to a fee.
