Switzerland Thun Stadtkirche

Thun is a city that naturally invites you to stay and explore, but photography enthusiasts will also quickly find plenty of inspiration here. Thun Castle is an impressive landmark, as are the lake and the town church, as seen here. From the banks of the Aare, you get this wonderful view of the church and the historic buildings in front of it.

If you like black-and-white photography, you can definitely create a beautiful image here. However, it could also look stunning in colour. For this shot, I used the Nikkor Z 105mm MC. A wide-angle lens could be challenging here, as the distance to the church is already quite considerable.

I arrived by car and parked in the marked parking garage. By Swiss standards, the parking fees are quite reasonable. From the parking garage, you can walk directly into the old town and explore the area at your leisure.

Near the spot is Thun’s famous surfing wave, which is also worth photographing.
