Switzerland Moorlandschaft Rothenthurm

One of the largest raised bogs of Switzerland located between Rothenthurm and Biberbrugg. It is surrounded by a very rich mosaic of different habitats: the remains of mountain pine-raised bogs, spruce forests and shrubs, peat, fens and the flowing river "Biber" meanders with its floodplain vegetation.

Photography Tips

If you're interested in taking photos of birds in every imaginable shapes and colours, this is the place to go. If you visit the bog in spring you can even, with a bit of luck, see some deer raising their fawns.

Travel Information

Paring is available eiter in Rothenturm or Altmatt, from wich you can start your path through the bog. Both locations are also reachable by public transports.
