Taiwan Mudouyu Lighthouse
The Mudouyu Lighthouse is located on Mudou Islet, off the coast of Taiwan. It is one of the oldest lighthouses in the region, built during the Qing Dynasty in the late 19th century. The lighthouse is an important navigational aid for ships in the Taiwan Strait, guiding vessels safely through the often treacherous waters. Its historical significance and sturdy construction make it a notable landmark in Taiwan’s maritime history.
Photography Tips
When photographing Mudouyu Lighthouse from outside, aim for early morning or late afternoon light to capture warm, soft tones and long shadows. Use a wide-angle lens to include the surrounding rocky coastline and sea for context. Try different angles—shoot from low perspectives to emphasize the lighthouse’s height or from a distance to show its isolation. Pay attention to the weather; dramatic skies with clouds or mist can add mood and depth to your shots.
