Tanzania Kilimanjaro - Shira Camp

As your are trekking up what is a fairly extreme mountain you need to travel relatively light and take it very slowly. Mountain sickness can affect the finest of people and its a bit of a lottery who it does actually hit. I found the act of stopping to take pictures and take in the view also provide the opportunity to get my breath back. It's an incredible mountain and a trip that will stay with me for the rest of my life.

You will be booked into one of the many organised trips up Kilimanjaro. Once you get to the starting gate for the route of your choice its all up and on foot!
