Tanzania Flamingos at the west side of Lake Natron
On the west side of the lake you will find some black sand structures with a background option. It is a nice contrast between the pink-white flamingos and the black sediments.
Lake Natron is one of the most important breeding grounds in the world for flamingos, whose bright feathers mirror the lake’s colors. Thousands of flamingos gather here, turning the shoreline into a living, moving work of art.

Photography Tips
Use a tele-zoom lens and be very careful in your steps and speed. Flamingos are shy birds who are running or flying away if you are too fast. Come in the early morning hours to avoid the heat. Otherwise your images will be unsharp if you want to shoot flamingos in a far distance.
Travel Information
In the area are three camps that you can book for your stay. You can see them in GoogleMaps. Often you can book your stay with a tour operator who can bring you all the way to the lake.
This location is great for a walking tour. Be careful with the water level and the soft sand. If you are close to the water or walk into it can happen that you sink deeply with your legs minimum to the knee.
