Tanzania Lerai Forest NCA, Ngorongoro Crater National Park

The forest area is one of the most interesting inside the crater. Here you have a very good chance to spot the unique rhino or even a huge lion family, that is especially living here.

Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa’s most extraordinary natural wonders, formed from a collapsed volcanic caldera millions of years ago. It shelters a dense concentration of wildlife, including lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalo and vast herds of wildebeest and zebra. With its dramatic landscapes and rich biodiversity, the crater offers a unique glimpse into a perfectly balanced natural ecosystem.

With a loooot of luck you can spot lions who are sleeping in trees. Have your tele-zoom lens ready and tell your driver exactly which position you want to shot a photo and where he need to stop. Sometimes it's about halb a meter driving to avoid smaller leaves or bushes in front of your camera.

Ask your driver about several drives through the forest section. We had always new and interesting wildlife encounters. Most of the animals are searching here for shadow during the day.

Normally it is no problem to talk to the driver and ask for extra wishes if they don't drive to that region.
