Tanzania Mt. Meru Summit Viewpoint
At 4,566 metres, Mount Meru is Tanzania’s second-highest mountain and a spectacular dormant volcano. Its dramatic crater rim, steep cliffs and vast inner ash cone create an impressive landscape, with breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro on clear mornings.
Photography Tips
This is particularly not the easiest to take photos of to be honest. It's freezing cold in the morning and you might exhausted from the hike. If you're shaky, make sure to use a tripod. Definitely expose for the highlights but keep a good balance of not going to dark, otherwise, you will have pitch black highlights.
Also, take care when leaning over the narrow ridge. It's very steep. Dont exceed your limits.

Travel Information
The climb follows the Momella Route and usually takes 3–4 days, staying in mountain huts along the way. Summit day starts around midnight, following a steep and exposed crater ridge to Socialist Peak for sunrise.
An armed park ranger is required throughout the trek because of wildlife on the lower slopes.
