The Great Holy Relics Pagodas Thailand

The Great Holy Relics Pagodas is a gorgeous Pagoda (Temple) complex located in the Mountains of Doi Inthanon National Park. Due to its position it works for both sunrise and sunset perfectly. It's time of day provides different results. If offers a great view of the landscape and on a clear day you can see all the way to Myanmar.

Travel information

Not an easy place to get to for a visitor. If you are coming from Chiang Mai you have the option of a 2 hour scooter ride or hiring a taxi which will cost 2000 baht+. I would suggest staying closer to this location and getting transport from there. There is parking right at the complex. The National Park opens at 5am but the Pagoda complex opens at 6am. Make sure you bring warm cloths as it can get cold.

I took a tour from Chaing Mai to get here and was given only 40 minutes at the King and Queen temples - which is not enough. Also,I was unable to get to the position used to take this shot as it was (badly) fenced off and signs saying not to cross the fence. I can imagine that at 6am, it is doable though :-)

Hahaha what it felt like. Looked like something out of Final Fantasy. Thank you, I did my job then.
