Thailand Sky Bar at Lebua State Tower
Shot from the Sky Bar at Lebua State Tower, this is one of the most iconic rooftop views in Bangkok. It overlooks the bustling Sathorn area, with the pixelated MahaNakhon tower standing tall in the skyline. As the sun sets, the city lights up, and you get this incredible mix of golden hour glow and urban energy. The atmosphere is a bit glam (dress code applies), but the views are absolutely worth it.
Photography Tips
Tripods aren’t allowed, so you’ll need to shoot handheld. I had to bump up to ISO 12,800 to freeze the scene without blur. Go just before sunset to grab a good spot and shoot through golden hour into blue hour. A fast lens helps in the low light, and try to brace your camera against the railing for stability. You’ll likely be working with high ISO, so nail focus and expose carefully to save the shadows.
Travel Information
Take the BTS Skytrain to Saphan Taksin station, then it’s a short walk to the Lebua at State Tower. Head to the elevator for the Sky Bar and follow signs for the Dome. There’s a smart casual dress code – no flip flops or sportswear. It’s free to go up, but you’ll need to buy a drink if you’re staying a while. Gets busy around sunset, so arrive a bit early to claim your spot.
