Turkey (Türkiye) Silhouettes on the Pepper Drying Hill at Sunset

The warm tones of the sunset transform the workers and rows of peppers on the drying hill into striking silhouettes. This traditional agricultural scene from Anatolia turns into a visual poem under the day’s final light.

Use backlight effectively: Position the sun just outside or behind the frame to create clean silhouettes.

Expose for the sky: In manual mode or with exposure compensation, meter for the sky to keep the foreground dark and the background glowing.

Look for strong shapes: Frame rhythmic lines like pepper strings, human figures, or hanging ropes clearly.

Try a low angle: Shoot upward from below the hill to make the sky a dominant, uncluttered backdrop.
