Turkey (Türkiye) Marmara University Theology Mosque
Known as the first steel-structured mosque in Turkey, The design uses fractal geometry and interprets traditional Turkish "kırlangıç" (swallow) using a dodecagonal (12-sided) central dome with a spiral, whirlpool-like design, it also features an intricate Iznik tile work, and two elegant minarets stand at 57.8 meters tall.
Travel Information
To reach the Marmara University Mosque in Altunizade, the most efficient way is taking the M5 Metro Line to the Bağlarbaşı station, where an exit leads directly to the mosque. Alternatively, you can take the Metrobus to Altunizade and walk five minutes. If you going by car, the mosque is located on Mahir İz Street next to the Capitol Shopping Center that offers underground parking.
