Hierapolis is an ancient Greco-Roman city located near Pamukkale in southwestern Turkey. Founded in the 2nd century BCE, the archaeological site features well-preserved ruins including a grand Roman theater, colonnaded streets, baths, temples, and an extensive necropolis. Built above natural thermal springs, Hierapolis was historically known as a healing center and spa destination. Today, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a major cultural landmark, offering panoramic views over the famous white travertine terraces of Pamukkale.
