The Arabian Oryx in the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve. 250 square kilometers of desert has been fenced in and the desert rehabilitated to a natural state.

Photography Tips

You can get out of the vehicle but still a 400mm is nice. You need to be quick and ensure the driver will stop when you need him to wait for your shot.

Travel Information

There are several companies providing excursions from Dubai to the desert. Many are very touristy so look for one providing access to the reserve without dinner and other distractions. The trip is a few hours outside of Dubai.
