All that area is great for Astrophotography, you have to go in summer that's the part that sucks, but you get used to the heat relatively fast, the liwa desert doesn't cool down at night, so expect around 35-40c in the middle of the night but you get rewarded with a beautiful night sky almost free of light pollution

Take a lot of water, in the car and also on foot

Travel Information

Drive from Abu Dhabi or Dubai depending where you are staying, you will pass Al razeen prison, don't stop the car near the prison or park there, keep your distance to that place
