The Teign valley near Castle Drogo is a classic Devonian valley with a pretty river, a scenic bridge and a nice pub at Fingle Bridge.

You can park at the Fingle Bridge Inn and walk along the valley or at Castle Drogo and walk down the hill. Both are lovely (but you will have to pay at Castle Drogo!)
