United Kingdom Derwent Island

  • Please log in or sign up for free to see the GPS coordinates & weather for this photo spot
Derwent Island is the only inhabited island on Derwentwater in England’s Lake District. It features an 18th-century house and is owned by the National Trust. The island is open to the public only a few days each year and can be visited by canoe for guided tours and garden walks.

Photography Tips

Flying a drone over Derwent Island requires permission from the National Trust since the island is only open to the public a few days a year. Keep your drone below 120 meters and always in visual line of sight. Avoid flying too close to people, buildings, or wildlife to prevent disturbance. Check weather conditions carefully, as the Lake District can be windy. Also, make sure your drone is registered with the UK Civil Aviation Authority and check for any temporary flight restrictions. Planning and respecting local rules will help you capture great aerial shots safely and responsibly.
