United Kingdom Lincoln Cathedral and Pub
Best angle to capture the charming pub in the foreground with the stunning Lincoln Cathedral rising in the background – perfect for atmospheric streetscape shots.
Photography Tips
Try to shoot in the standard focal range (24–70 mm). Step back and zoom in slightly to create a natural compression, keeping the cathedral in proper proportion behind the pub and people in the foreground. Avoid standing too close with a wide-angle lens, as it may distort the scale. Watch out for converging verticals – keep the camera level or leave enough room around the edges to correct perspective distortion in post.
If possible, shoot the scene as a time blend: the cathedral lighting at night often includes unnatural green or purple tones, which don’t really match the classic aesthetic of this beautiful historic site.
Bonus tip: the second photo was taken from further back on Castle Hill, from atop the old city walls – also a great spot!

Travel Information
There are some parking spots near the cathedral, but they’re often full. I recommend parking further down in the old town and walking up. Not only is it usually easier, but the charming alleys and historic streets below the cathedral are full of great streetscape photo opportunities as well.
