United Kingdom Mooring Dolphins, Lepe
Lepe Country Park includes remains of structures associated with the preparation for D Day. These mooring dolphins, just off shore, were used to secure landing craft. Nearby are the remains of a site, where caissons for Mulberry Harbours were constructed.
Photography Tips
The decaying sea defences and industrial remains offer many photographic opportunities. For long exposure photographs, a tripod and neutral density filters are needed.
Travel Information
Lepe Country Park has a large car park. There is also a cafe on site. It is popular for walkers. During the warmer months the beach can be busy with families. However, the area around the D Day remains is usually relatively quiet.
