United Kingdom Norfolk Wherry Trust, River Thurne.
This spot doesn’t have a fixed address. It’s located around 600-800 meters up river from the famous Norfolk Wherry Trust in Ludham, Norfolk. The location is a small grass bank that’s overgrown.
Photography Tips
You’ll need a mountain bike. This location cannot be reached by car. Filters are a must, NDs. During summer months you are often shooting with the sun facing you or slightly to the side. Plenty of water and food. There are no toilets. Tripod, long lens, spare batteries, sun hat. Don’t go during the cooler months. This area is tricky to navigate. Boating season winds down after October.
Travel Information
I took my bike from Norwich Train Station to Acle Station. From there I cycled to the Norfolk Wherry Trust and made the slow journey up river to my spot. If you’ve never cycled on busy country roads then take the car. Cycling on the Acle Straight is intimidating and dangerous and has led to many deaths over the years. Most of the route is flat apart from when you take the country and wooded paths which can be quite bumpy. Always take plenty of power banks and professional camping lights such as torch, headlamp, etc.
