United Kingdom River Ant.
This location is known as the How Hill Estate on the Norfolk Broads on the River Ant. It’s an excellent spot for boat and wildlife photography but somewhat remote. Cell signal is very poor.
Photography Tips
Take filters, tripod, a long lens, plenty of batteries, polarising filters or CPLs. That said I prefer to remove reflections or glare in Lightroom or Photoshop. Shoot in RAW. Use a shutter speed of around 150/200 and during high sun an aperture of f10. Adjust aperture if using filters. Stay in between f/7-10. I prefer auto ISO because the weather changes often, especially on breezy cloudy sunny days. Sunsets are best.
Travel Information
I traveled from Norwich Train Station to Wroxham. I then cycled the 35 minute route to How Hill. The roads are mostly flat in this area. I wouldn’t recommend leaving at night time but would recommend taking a tent for an overnight stay. This gives ample time for some spectacular photography such as astrophotography, golden hour, etc. Moreover take an inflatable kayack on a bike trailer. This provides an even better experience during the morning fog bank. This region has many beautiful pumping mills, and during morning low light they are super to photograph along with boats making their way through the mist. You can travel this route by car. Parking is available on the estate and in nearby lay-bys. I prefer the bike though. The area is mostly flat apart from two minor steep hills.
