This artwork is mounted high up, so look for an interesting sky for backdrop. The view towards the South has more interesting architecture behind it. Evenings can offer richer colours in the lighting.

Winchester is well served by public car parks, though those in the very centre of the city can fill up with shoppers and visitors. Fortunately, the city is small and there are other car parks, such as St Peter's, that are only a few minutes walk from the centre. There are park and ride services too, which are very cost-effective if you plan to stay the entire day. The Barfield park and ride is easy to access. It's also only a few minutes walk from the cathedral and Winchester College, if you prefer not to take the bus. Some car parks are free to use in the evenings.
