Steep Street, as its name suggests is one of the steepest streets in Britain. Its also one of the oldest, dating back to Roman times and with some shops, tea rooms, restaurants and pubs dating back to the 12th century. At the bottom is the city centre and Guildhall; at the top is Castle Hill, an open space with Lincoln Cathedral to the right and Lincoln Castle to the right. Ahead is an area of historic buildings now used as hotels, shops and restaurant.

Photography Tips

The road and paths in the area are old, worn, cobble stone. If you think they add a charm to the scene, get down low to shoot. It might be worth shooting at night as well as daytime.
