United Kingdom York Street Car Park Viaduct View
This spot provides a great vantage point of Manchester's active railway viaduct set against modern city centre high-rises. Positioned by the open paved area near York Street Car Park, you get a direct view across the River Medlock as passenger trains cross the historic brick arches. Itβs a fantastic location for urban, architectural, and transport photography, offering high contrast and rich textures that work especially well for black-and-white shots.
Photography Tips
This is a very safe and easy location to shoot from with minimal traffic, making it straightforward once you arrive. Trains run regularly across the viaduct, so you will have plenty of opportunities to frame your shot. Use a faster shutter speed if you want to freeze the movement of the passing train, or try a slightly slower shutter speed if you want to capture motion blur. High-contrast or black-and-white editing works great here to highlight the details in the brickwork and modern architecture.
