I have always been a big fan of Key Largo, you can face the sunrise on one side of the highway, and sunset on the other. There are lots of places for both, scout around and don't mix chicken wings with lenses, or photo equipment generally.
Photography Tips
Lots of Pelican shots too, with long and short lenses good for the Keys.
Travel Information
Not too many free docks, or open beaches, but you don't have to spend much at most to get a dockside or beachside spot for sunset.
