USA Duluth Lift Bridge
Duluth, at the western ‘tip’ of Lake Superior and the border with Wisconsin, has a large port. At the northeastern end of the port, there is the Duluth Ship Canal, one of two accesses to the port.
The historic Aerial Lift Bridge crosses the canal. It is an active museum piece and a landmark of the city. After all, the bridge can be raised to its full height of a good 41 metres in about a minute.
