USA Merriman Falls

Lots of moss, lots of rock, lots of macro possibilities - both water and botanical. I’ve been there several times and have only seen one other person there. Heavy tree canopy.

Photography Tips

You'll want both ultra wide and macro lenses available, as well as use of a polarizer. This photo was taken just to the right side of the falls.

Travel Information

The falls are located immediately next to the South Shore Road just outside of Olympic National Park, east of Lake Quinault. Drive about 3 1/2 miles past the Gatton Creek Campground, which is 1 mile beyond the Lake Quinault Lodge, to a large turnout along the road next to the bridge over Merriman Creek. The falls are clearly visible from the road, and are hard to miss.
