Artist's Point is an "island" in the Grand Marais harbor which is connected by a spit of land called a tombolo. Grand Marais is 2 hours northeast of Duluth on "the north shore" of Lake Superior, one of the world's largest freshwater lakes.

Parking is available on a tombolo, a spit of land that connects the mainland to the island. If you go in the winter, bundle, up, be prepared for wind and wear ice spikes.
