The Lighthouse gives serveral photo opportunities. This shot is taken from next of the Lens building. A sunrise opportunity is given from the bird-watching platform at the entrance to Burma Road, a five minute walk from the parking lot. There are other opportunities too from the bay-side as well as from the ocean-side.

Photography Tips

A wide lens is probably best. But a 400mm might come in handy too. Avoid the hours with harsh light. Time exposures during sunset or blue hour are great options to capture the rotating light.

Travel Information

Park in Field 5 of Robert Moses State Park and walk 20 minutes on wooden walks to the Lighthouse. There is a parking fee during the summer months. Do not drive beyond the check point onto Burma Road. Getting caught is very expensive.
